While repairing the Dragonfly, the crew is attacked by a large cybot, an old relic from a previous war accidentally reactivated by their presence. Majorette establishes a communication link with the automaton and attempts to overload its brain with large amounts of random data from the Plex (galactic information network) … This had an unexpected outcome: the cybot is now inhabited by the scanned personality of a human from another era... who is not adjusting well to her new body.

In order to contact a friend in the Yakuza martial fellowship within the Navy, McAlmatov takes the Dragonfly to the remote Oberon Torus and uses a commercial sim salon to join her in a combat simulation.
